Picking The Right Eyebrow Shapes

By Myrtle Cash

There are a lot of people out there who detract from their beauty just because they do not have the right eyebrow shapes. Brows are important because they frame your face. If these are too thick or too thin, or are angled the wrong way, you will not be looking your best. The following are some tips for shaping these growths.

One should take the time to examine ones facial shape before going ahead with the plucking or waxing. Determine if your face is round, diamond shaped, square, heart shaped and so on. Brows have to compliment your existing features and they should be contoured accordingly. Tweezers should easily get those unwanted hairs out.

There are aspects that need to be considered when shaping the brow. Its fullness has to be decided. For example, a full brow is usually best for those with squarish faces. One also needs to pay attention to how the brow should be arched. You could go with a rounder arch for example if you have a long face.

Your brows should begin at the edge of your nose. Just think of a line that starts from the outer edge of your nose going up to your brows. A diagonal line starting at the center of your lips, hitting the edge of your nose, and going straight to the outer area of your eye will tell you where the brow should end.

At this point, it would be great if you have a brow pencil that can be used to outline the curve. Apply this to your brow so that you can have a guide for the plucking part. The rule is to just get the hairs that do not fall within the contour you have drawn.

Hair can grow in different directions. Be careful when you start plucking an area where hair is growing in a downwards direction. Sometimes, it can look like the hair has to be removed when the only thing that needs to be done is to trim it.

Tweezing is a good solution since you can pluck the area gradually, leaving room for you to assess as you go. It is important that you get high quality tweezers so you do not have a difficult time getting the small hairs. Warm water should make hair easier to pluck. Before plucking, find an area with a mirror and a bright light so you can easily make an examination.

Not all people will have the skill to do this task satisfactorily. Consider going to a professional. This has often been recommended for first timers. These experts are more experienced at shaping and will give you good results. The only thing you will have to do after is to maintain the contour they have provided.

Brows are part of your face. They frame it and if shaped the right way, can make you more appealing. Deciding on the right eyebrow shapes will mean working with the features that you already have. Assess how your face is shaped and pluck accordingly.
