Fighting Acne Naturally Is The Way To Go

By Yves Knowles

If you've been a sufferer of acne for some time, you know that it can be difficult to be out in the open when you just want to hide. This article will give you some more confidence, as we tell you how you can take control of your acne, and work towards beautiful skin.

Make sure you keep your pillowcases clean. It makes sense. Think about your face rubbing against this all night. Always wash your pillows and use a fresh one each night.

Above all, don't make your acne worse. Resist the temptation to pick at it. Instead, use acne treatment cream. But picking at it can result in scars, even infection. In fact, it can lead to discolorations in your skin that may take years to disappear.

Avoid picking your pimples to protect yourself from acne spread. Picking at your pimples only leads to more breakouts, because you promote the spreading of the bacteria. If you pick the same spot often, you can wind up breaking the skin and once the spot heals you will be left with a scar.

To help reduce your acne, try wearing no makeup. Try less irritating cosmetics, as well, like water-based makeup. Popular thinking says acne should be covered with foundation to make it look better; however, this will only make things worse by clogging the pores. Staying away from makeup all together is the best way to keep your pores clean and healthy.

Steer clear of stress whenever feasible. Stress may not be a direct cause of acne breakouts, but it can actually exacerbate the problem.

Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated, and reduce acne. Make sure you drink adequate water daily. The recommendation is to drink 6-8 glasses of water per day. The dead skin can cause blockage of your pores and lead to more acne.

It's possible to control your acne by reducing your stress level. Stress can cause the production of hormones, which is bad for your health and your skin. Listen to relaxing music, get some exercise, or meditate to alleviate stress. Reducing stress will help with stress-related acne breakouts.

In order to treat acne, you must be educated about how to do it. Once you have a better understanding, acne will not seem like such a frustrating problem anymore.
