How Utilizing Microdermabrasion Crystals Improves Your Skin

By Judy Sullivan

There are several men and women nowadays who apply microdermabrasion crystals to improve the way that their skin looks. Most people have a few problems with cells on their face that are give them distinctive marks. They may use face masks, chemical peels and toners to get the flawless look that is desired. Others get satisfactory outcomes from toners, moisturizers or serums but these do not solve all the issues people have.

Whether you have oily, dry or acne prone skin, you may have consulted a family doctor or dermatologist in the past about solutions to your problem. In any one of these discussions, refining techniques may have been raised as an option. These methods are used in spas across the world. Some people have also had them applied in dermatological offices.

Refining techniques involve using Aluminum Oxide in its crystalline form. This strips off dead cells, allowing those underneath to be exposed. Generally, the layer below has more vibrant cells so the whole area will appear more youthful. Many people who act as a career undergo the procedure for this reason.

People who have acne vulgaris and other forms of this condition are sometimes advised to use this type of therapy to keep the pimples under control. The idea is that bacteria and dead cells can build up and make it harder for the epidermis to thrive. This in turns leads to infected pores and pimples and later on blemishes form.

People who have used the technique say that by removing the outer layer of dry cells, their skin is better able to absorb any treatments that they use. For example, if someone applies a special oil that has a moisturizing effect, it should be able to penetrate more deeply because there is not a harder outer layer absorbing some of the liquid.

When a crystal layer is applied, a special machine must be used with it in order to achieve the ideal buffing effect. Most people do not use their fingers, hands or soft cloths to rub at their face. This is where this particular technique is a little different from a regular body or facial scrub. The machine makes it easier to get even coverage with a heavy, lipid based cream and prevents anything sticky from being left on your nails.

The microdermabrasion crystals that are readily purchased in specialist stores online or offline are the same type which are applied when you visit a dermatologist. The difference is that when you use it at home, you spend less money. In fact, a single large bottle can serve most persons for several months when a treatment is used bi weekly.

It is often better for you to purchase a package that has each crystal loosely placed alongside others. This allows you to mix it in the liquid that is best for you. When microdermabrasion crystals are packed in a heavy lipid based cream, it forces users to apply an oily layer to their face. That may not be the best option for persons with acne.
